Equestrian Staff

Equestrian:  Activity area where participants learn about horses and ride them.

Equestrian Specialist: The staff member providing direct onsite leadership and supervision of all Equestrian Activities.

Equestrian activities take place each day during the morning session.  Campers are given a chance to learn about horses as well as ride them.

 1.        The Equestrian Specialist must meet the following qualifications:

1. Certified Holds one of the following:

1.        Certification as a therapeutic riding instructor, ACA certificate, or equivalent instructor training.

2.        Documented endorsements of previous successful experience in formal horseback riding instruction.

2. Experience Has at least six week documented experience in a management or supervisory position at a horseback riding facility.
3. Must be 21 or older.

2.        All Equestrian Specialist must demonstrate the ability to:

1. Enforce safety regulations.
2. Instruct and assist groups that are participating in equestrian activity.
3. Identify possible safety hazards within the equestrian area.
4. Apply proper emergency procedures.
