Family Support Services

Children and adults with special needs aren’t the only ones who need our services.  Parents, siblings, caregivers, and other family members often need support too.

Easter Seals offers these services to our families and caregivers of children with special needs:

Rehabilitation Coordination - Peoria, Bloomington-Normal - Developing an individualized plan for each child and family receiving services at Easter Seals.

Parent & Family Training - Peoria, Bloomington-Normal

Lekotek Toy Loan Program - Peoria, Bloomington-Normal - Resource center that provides support and information to families with children who have special needs.

Support Groups - Peoria, Bloomington-Normal - Programs and support services for families who have children with disabilities or special needs.

Individual & Family Counseling - Peoria, Bloomington-Normal - Counseling services for children and families with disabilities or special needs.

Respitality - Peoria, Bloomington-Normal - An opportunity for parents or caregivers who need a break now and then.

SIBShops - Peoria, Bloomington-Normal - Programs for brothers and sisters of children with disabilities or special needs.

Reading & Math Tutoring - Decatur - Available during the summer to students, ages eight and up, who are performing below their age levels.

Medical Equipment Loans - Decatur - Wheelchairs, walkers, shower chairs, and canes are available for a free three-month loan with a doctor's prescription.

Weatherization Assistance - Decatur - Provides free weatherizing materials through the Energy Assistance Foundation for those who meet the guidelines.

Parent's Night Out - Bloomington-Normal, Decatur - Respite care provided at Easter Seals Facility for children with and without disabilities, ages one to 14.
